Members of the Muslim community in Canberra, the capital of Australia, described receiving approval from officials to build a mosque in the suburb of Junglane as a victory for God's will, after the Planning and Land Committee approved the construction of a mosque that can accommodate 500 worshippers.
In its report explaining the reasons for the approval, the Planning Committee indicated that the roads surrounding the project site would help avoid traffic congestion.
It also affirmed that the complaints and concerns raised in the objections, which were based on religious and cultural grounds, were unfounded.
The committee further emphasized the necessity for Muslims to have their own mosque to meet their religious needs, given the continuously growing Muslim population. Source: Al-Alukah Network.
