"When he arrived in Yemen in 1399 AH (approximately 1979 CE), he went to Sheikh Muqbil Al-Wadi'i (may God have mercy on him) in Sa'dah and stayed with him for a short time. Then he went to Wadi Kana in Bani Amr, accompanied by his father, Sheikh Zahir Al-Amri (may God have mercy on him), and taught students in the valley for about two years. Afterward, he went to Sheikh Abdul Majeed Al-Zindani (may God preserve him) in Khamer, north of Sana'a, who was at that time leading a da'wah (missionary) effort in the Hashid region."
